Adhyāya 10: Śrutakarmā’s Engagements; Prativindhya–Citra Duel; Drauṇi Advances toward Bhīma
saṃjaya uvāca | sunītair iha sarvārthair daivam apy anulomyate | te vayaṃ pravaraṃ nṛṇāṃ sarvair guṇagaṇair yutam |

The verse asserts the Mahābhārata’s recurring nīti-idea that disciplined, ethical, and well-planned action (sunīti) can shape outcomes so strongly that even ‘daiva’ (destiny) appears to turn favorable—emphasizing human agency guided by right policy.
Sañjaya reports a strategic resolve on the Kaurava side: they decide to consecrate Karṇa, praised as the foremost man endowed with many virtues, as the army’s commander, expecting that under his leadership they will defeat and crush the enemy.
