भीष्मशिबिरगमनम् — Duryodhana’s Visit to Bhīṣma’s Camp and the Command Appeal
इरावानपि संक्रुद्धस्त्वरमाण: पराक्रमी । हन्तुकामममित्रघ्नो राक्षसं प्रत्यवारयत्
sañjaya uvāca | irāvān api saṅkruddhas tvaramāṇaḥ parākrāmī | hantukāmam amitraghno rākṣasaṃ pratyavārayat ||
三阇耶说道:伊罗梵亦怒火中烧,行动迅疾;他是强悍的战士、灭敌之人,急忙迎上前去,遏止那意欲取他性命的罗刹。
संजय उवाच
In the battlefield context, a kṣatriya meets unlawful or hostile aggression not with passivity but with steadfast defense; courage and prompt action are portrayed as appropriate when protecting oneself and one’s side in a righteous war.
Sanjaya reports that Iravan, angered and acting swiftly, blocks and repels a rākṣasa who is rushing in with the intention to kill him.
