Educational Q&A

The verse emphasizes that pivotal dharmic events are not merely worldly occurrences: they resonate across the cosmos. The astonishment of gods and seers frames Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna’s presence as morally and spiritually momentous, inviting the listener to view the war’s unfolding through the lens of dharma and divine oversight.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that celestial beings—gods, divine sages, Gandharvas, and Nāgas—react with profound wonder upon seeing Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna appear in a remarkable state/with a remarkable bearing, highlighting the extraordinary nature of the moment on the battlefield.
