Arjuna’s Advance toward Bhīṣma; The Gāṇḍīva’s Signal and the Armies’ Convergence (भीष्माभिमुखगमनम् — गाण्डीवनिर्घोष-ध्वजवर्णनम्)
राजन! जो नाना प्रकारके चिह्न धारण करनेवाले और अत्यन्त तेजस्वी थे, उन समस्त महारथियोंद्वारा की हुई अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंकी वर्षासे बहुत ही घायल होकर प्राग्ज्योतिषनरेश भगदत्तका वह हाथी मस्तकपर रक्तसे रंजित हो रणक्षेत्रमें देखने ही योग्य हो रहा था, मानो सूर्यकी अरुण किरणोंसे व्याप्त रँगा हुआ महामेघ हो ।।
