Daiva–Puruṣakāra Discourse and the Elephant-Corps Engagement (भीमगजानीक-सम्भ्रान्ति)
तमापतत्तं वेगेन प्रेरितं निशितं शरम् । भीमसेनो द्विधा राजंश्रिच्छेद विपुलासिना
tam āpatattaṁ vegena preryitaṁ niśitaṁ śaram | bhīmaseno dvidhā rājan śiccheda vipulāsinā ||
三阇耶说道:“大王啊!那支锐利之箭挟着狂猛之速飞扑而来,毗摩塞那以阔刃长剑将其一斩为二。”
संजय उवाच
In the battlefield context, the verse highlights disciplined alertness and measured force: a warrior must respond swiftly and skillfully to imminent danger, using strength under control rather than reckless aggression.
Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that a fast, sharp arrow rushing toward its target is intercepted by Bhīma, who slices it into two with his broad sword—an image of extraordinary reflex and prowess amid the Kurukṣetra fighting.
