प्रावेपन्त महेष्वासा: शिखण्डिप्रमुखा रथा: । संग्रामभूमिमें शोभा पानेवाले भीष्मजीके द्वारा महाधनुर्धर श्वेतके मारे जानेपर शिखण्डी आदि महाधनुर्धर रथी भयके मारे काँपने लगे || ११८ ह || ततो धनंजयो राजन वार्ष्णेयश्चापि सर्वश:
sañjaya uvāca | prāvepanta maheṣvāsāḥ śikhaṇḍipramukhā rathāḥ | tato dhanañjayo rājan vārṣṇeyaś cāpi sarvaśaḥ |
三阇耶说道：当强弓手施韦塔被毗湿摩所杀时，以尸建陀为首的诸大弓手、战车勇士都因恐惧而战栗。随后，大王啊，檀那ंज耶（阿周那）与瓦尔什涅耶（奎师那）渐渐将己军自战场后撤；而在那一刻，你方与般度方两军也都对继续交战生出倦意。此段表明：一位卓绝战士的陨落，足以动摇士气，并改变整支军队的道义气质与战略态势。
