Evening Withdrawal after Arjuna’s Counter-Advance
तत्रास्य सुमहद् राजन बाह्दोर्बलमदृश्यत । यतमानस्य समरे भीष्ममर्दयत: शरै:,राजन! उस समय समरभूमिमें प्रयत्नपूर्वक अपने बाणोंद्वारा भीष्मको पीड़ा देते हुए अभिमन्युकी भुजाओंका महान् बल प्रत्यक्ष देखा गया
tatrāsya sumahad rājan bāhvor balam adṛśyata | yatamānasya samare bhīṣmam ardayataḥ śaraiḥ ||
三阇耶说道:“在那里,哦大王,他双臂的雄浑之力清晰可见——当他在战阵中奋力拼杀,以箭矢折磨毗湿摩之时。”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how true capability becomes evident through disciplined effort under pressure: Abhimanyu’s strength is ‘seen’ not by claim but by sustained striving in battle, reflecting the kṣatriya ideal of courage and steadfastness in one’s duty.
Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that on the battlefield Abhimanyu, exerting himself intensely, struck and harassed Bhīṣma with volleys of arrows—making Abhimanyu’s exceptional arm-strength and martial power unmistakably apparent.
