Bhīmasena’s Kalinga Engagement and the Approach of Bhīṣma (भीमसेन-कालिङ्ग-संग्रामः)
न मातुलं च स्वस्रीयो न सखायं सखा तथा । आविष्टा इव युध्यन्ते पाण्डवा: कुरुभि: सह
na mātulaṃ ca svasrīyo na sakhāyaṃ sakhā tathā | āviṣṭā iva yudhyante pāṇḍavāḥ kurubhiḥ saha ||
三阇耶说道：在那场战斗中，般度族的勇士与俱卢军交锋，仿佛被一股骤然而压倒性的力量所攫住——亲缘与友谊皆无从停手：外甥不为舅父留情，朋友也不为朋友留情。战争的苛求遮蔽了私人情分，显出冲突的狂热如何使人心变硬，令寻常的社会义务暂时失效。
