Kṛṣṇa identifies Himself as the indwelling Self in all beings and as the origin, sustainer, and end of existence. This teaches divine immanence and unity: seeing the same inner reality everywhere supports devotion, humility, and steadiness in one’s dharma.
On the battlefield, Kṛṣṇa continues describing His vibhūtis (manifestations of divine greatness). Here He begins by stating the most fundamental manifestation: His presence as the inner Self in every heart, framing all later examples within a single, all-pervading reality.
