Karma-Yoga, Jñāna-Yajña, and Avatāra Instruction
सम्बन्ध-- उपर्युक्त प्रकारसे मनसहित इन्द्रियॉको वशर्मोें न करनेसे और भगवत्परायण न होनेसे क्या हानि है? यह बात अब दो *लोकोंमें बतलायी जाती है-- ध्यायतो विषयान् पुंस: सड़स्तेषूपजायते । सड्त् संजायते काम: कामात् क्रोधोडभिजायते
dhyāyato viṣayān puṁsaḥ saṅgas teṣūpajāyate | saṅgāt sañjāyate kāmaḥ kāmāt krodho 'bhijāyate ||
人若反复系念于诸感官之境,便生对其执著;由执著生欲望;欲望受阻,则生嗔怒。
अजुन उवाच
Uncontrolled mental dwelling on pleasures initiates a chain: contemplation → attachment → desire → anger. Ethical failure begins internally; therefore mastery of attention and detachment is foundational to dharma.
In the Kurukṣetra setting, Kṛṣṇa is instructing Arjuna on the psychology of moral collapse and the need for disciplined senses and mind. This verse explains how fixation on objects undermines steadiness and leads to destructive emotions.
