tatra te kāraṇaṁ rājan pravakṣyāmy anasūyave | nāradas tam ṛṣir veda bhīṣma-droṇī ca pāṇḍava ||

The verse frames ethical communication: profound or sensitive reasons should be disclosed only to a listener who is anasūya—free from envy and fault-finding—so that truth is received fairly and used responsibly.
Sañjaya addresses King Dhṛtarāṣṭra and promises to reveal the underlying reason for a particular situation, noting that the matter is a guarded secret known only to Nārada, Bhīṣma, and Droṇa, and then he proceeds to explain it.
