प्राह सर्वान्‌ समुद्वीक्ष्य भरतान्‌ भारतं प्रति । कुन्तीपुत्र युधां श्रेष्ठ सुह्ृदां प्रीतिवर्धनम्‌

sañjaya uvāca | prāha sarvān samudvīkṣya bharatān bhārataṃ prati | kuntīputra yudhāṃ śreṣṭha suhṛdāṃ prītivardhanam |

三阇耶说道:他环顾诸婆罗多众,便对婆罗多的后裔开口。称赞昆蒂之子阿周那——战士之最、令友人欢悦者——他以此方式对他说话,意在振奋其心,并为即将在亲族聚集、战争临界之际所要说出的言辞定下基调。
