पीड्यमाना: शितै: शस्त्रै: प्राद्रवाम रणे तदा । राजन्! उस समय श्वेतवाहन कुन्तीपुत्र धनंजयसे डरकर उनके तीखे अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंसे पीड़ित हो हम सभी लोग रणभूमिसे भागने लगे थे

三阇耶说道：大王啊，那时在战阵之中，我们被持白马战车的昆蒂之子檀那阇耶的锋利兵器所折磨，又因惧怕于他，众人尽皆溃散，奔逃离开战场。此偈表明：恐惧与压倒性的力量，足以动摇久经沙场的勇士，显露战争的道德重压——勇气、职责与求生在此相互冲撞。
