ये च केचन पार्थानामभियाता धनंजयम्‌ | राजानो भीष्ममासाद्य गतास्ते यमसादनम्‌,उस रणक्षेत्रमें समस्त योद्धा भीष्मके भयसे उद्विग्न हो अर्जुनको पुकारने लगे। पाण्डवपक्षके जो कोई नरेश अर्जुनके साथ गये थे, वे भीष्मके सामने पहुँचते ही यमलोकके पथिक हो गये

ye ca kecana pārthānām abhiyātā dhanañjayam | rājāno bhīṣmam āsādya gatās te yamasādanam ||

三阇耶说道:凡属帕尔塔族(般度五子一方)而前出援护檀那阇耶(阿周那)的诸王,一旦抵近毗湿摩,便径赴阎摩之所。此景凸显战争阴沉的道德重负:纵有勇武与忠义,遇上几近无敌的长老战士,也可能顷刻殒命;它提醒听者,战阵之果报不可逃避,人间权势在命运与达摩(正法、义务)之前何其脆弱。
