दशाहानि ततस्तप्त्वा भीष्म: पाण्डववाहिनीम् | निरविद्यत धर्मात्मा जीवितेन परंतप,परंतप! इस प्रकार दस दिनोंतक धर्मात्मा भीष्म पाण्डवसेनाको संतप्त करके अन्ततोगत्वा अपने जीवनसे ही ऊब गये
daśāhāni tatastaptvā bhīṣmaḥ pāṇḍavavāhinīm | niravidyat dharmātmā jīvitena parantapa ||
三阇耶说道：“在灼烧般地摧残般度族军阵十日之后，具正法之心的毗湿摩——噬敌者啊——终于连自身的生命也感到厌倦。此颂揭示战争的道德重压：即便是守持达摩的长者，受职责所缚，也可能走到觉得在如此毁灭之中继续活着都难以承受的地步。”
