Bhīṣma’s Fall to the Arrow-Bed
तथैव चेकितानो<पि चित्रसेनमवारयत् | तद् युद्धमासीत् सुमहत् तयोस्तत्र समागमे
tathaiva cekitāno 'pi citrasenam avārayat | tad yuddham āsīt sumahat tayos tatra samāgame ||
三阇耶说道:“同样地,车吉多那也遏住了质多罗塞那。二人在彼处相遇,遂爆发一场极其宏大的战斗——各自竭尽全力,欲阻对方前进,以护持己方。”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the kṣatriya ethic in battle: steadfast resistance, protecting one’s side, and meeting force with disciplined valor—without introducing a separate moral sermon, it frames duty as action in context.
Sañjaya reports that Cekitāna stops Citrasena’s advance; as the two confront each other directly, their clash escalates into a fierce, major duel on the battlefield.
