Yuga-Lakṣaṇa and Varṣa-Pramāṇa Inquiry
sahasrāṇāṁ śatāny eva yato varṣati vāsavaḥ | na tāsāṁ nāmadheyāni parimāṇaṁ tathaiva ca ||

The verse highlights the immensity of the world’s sustaining systems—so vast that names and totals cannot be fully enumerated—pointing to humility before the cosmic order and the divine forces (like Indra) that uphold life through rain.
Sañjaya continues a descriptive account (cosmographic/sacred-geographic in tone), stating that Indra causes rain from innumerable sources, whose names and total measure are beyond complete listing.
