तारापतिमिवापूर्णमन्तकाले यदृच्छया । 'शत्रुसूदन! मैं सब शत्रुओंका अन्त कर डालूँगा। देखिये, आज ही मैं पूर्ण चन्द्रमाके समान दुर्जय वीर महारथी भीष्मको उनके अन्तिम समयमें इच्छानुसार मार गिराता हूँ ।।

Transliteration

tārāpatim ivāpūrṇam antakāle yadṛcchayā |

Translation

三阇耶说道：“仿佛在月尚未圆满之时，于命定的终末关头，竟以偶然之势击落群星之主——明月……”（此句引出阿周那夸示般的决断：誓要斩落毗湿摩；将其比作近乎违常的奇功，从而铺陈英雄誓愿、宿命与战争冷酷必然之间的道德张力。）
