नासज्जन्त तनुत्रेषु भीष्मचापच्युता: शरा: । हतवीरान्‌ रथात्‌ राजन्‌ संयुक्ताञ्जवनैर्हयै:

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca

nāsajjanta tanutreṣu bhīṣma-cāpa-cyutāḥ śarāḥ | hatavīrān rathāt rājan saṃyuktān javanair hayaiḥ ||

Translation

三阇耶说道：大王啊，毗湿摩弓上放出的箭，并不滞留在战士的甲胄之中；相反，它们以骇人的劲力贯击，先斩其勇将，继而使那由骏马疾驰牵引的战车也随之倾覆。此景昭示战局之阴沉奔涌：武勇与命数交织，连最严密的护身也难保周全。
