Marutta’s Sacrifice and Agni’s Embassy (मरुत्त-यज्ञे दूतत्वम्)
वजन गृहीत्वा च पुरन्दर त्वं सम्प्राहार्षीक्ष्यवनस्यातिघोरम् । स ते विप्र: सह वज्ेण बाहु- मपागृह्नात् तपसा जातमन्यु:
vajraṁ gṛhītvā ca purandara tvaṁ samprahārṣī kṣyavanasya atighoram | sa te vipraḥ saha vajreṇa bāhum apāgṛhṇāt tapasā jātamanyuḥ purandara |
噢，普兰达罗（因陀罗）啊，你曾握起金刚雷杵，正要击向极其可怖的圣者遮婆那（Cyavana）。然而那位婆罗门大圣（brahmarṣi）因愤怒而以苦行之力（tapasyā）连同雷杵一起制住了你的手臂——昭示：当神力被误用时，灵修的戒行亦能加以遏止。
