Babhruvāhana’s Lament and Appeal for Expiation (प्रायश्चित्त-याचना)
त॑ गृहीत्वा तु कौरव्य नागराजपते: सुता । मन: प्रह्लादनीं वाचं सैनिकानामथाब्रवीत्,कुरुनन्दन! उस मणिको लेकर नागराजकुमारी उलूपी सैनिकोंके मनको आह्लाद प्रदान करनेवाली बात बोली--
tāṁ gṛhītvā tu kauravya nāgarājapateḥ sutā | manaḥ prahlādanīṁ vācaṁ sainikānām athābravīt ||
毗湿摩波耶那说道:乌卢毗取了那宝珠——那伽之主的女儿——便以悦人心神之言告诸众军,使其心中重得安定与勇气。
वैशमग्पायन उवाच
Effective leadership in dharmic action includes restoring morale through truthful, heartening speech; words can steady minds and prevent fear or disorder during tense moments.
After taking the jewel, Ulūpī (a Nāga princess) addresses the assembled soldiers with reassuring, uplifting words, indicating an intervention meant to encourage and guide them.
