Āśvamedhika Parva, Adhyāya 77 — Saindhava resistance, Arjuna’s restraint, and Duḥśalā’s supplication
iti śrīmahābhārate āśvamedhike parvaṇi anugītāparvaṇi saindhavayuddhe saptasaptatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ
This line is a colophon marking the end of a chapter; it does not present a direct ethical teaching, but it frames the narrative within the Anugītā section and signals a transition in the text’s structure.
The verse functions as an editorial closure: it announces that the seventy-seventh chapter—identified by the theme ‘Saindhava-yuddha’ (battle involving the Saindhava/Sindhu king)—has concluded within the Aśvamedhika Parva’s Anugītā portion.
