Kṛṣṇa’s Departure, Auspicious Omens, and the Opening of the Uttaṅka Dialogue
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: tau gatvā Dhṛtarāṣṭrasya gṛhaṃ śakragūhopamam, mahārāja! indrabhavanake samāna-śobhā-pānevale Dhṛtarāṣṭrake mahale, un donoṃne rājā Dhṛtarāṣṭra, mahābuddhimān Vidura aur rājā Yudhiṣṭhirakā darśana kiyā.
Even amid political change and the aftermath of conflict, dharma is upheld through proper conduct—seeking audience respectfully, honoring elders (Dhṛtarāṣṭra) and valuing righteous counsel (Vidura), while recognizing legitimate kingship (Yudhiṣṭhira).
Two individuals arrive at Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s splendid palace, described as comparable to Indra’s abode, and there they meet/see Dhṛtarāṣṭra, Vidura, and Yudhiṣṭhira in a formal audience.
