Brahmā’s Instruction on Elements and Faculties

अधिभूतं रसश्चात्र सोमस्तत्राधिदेवतम्‌ । जलको चौथा भूत समझना चाहिये। रसना उसका अध्यात्म, रस उसका अधिभूत और चन्द्रमा उसका अधिदैवत कहा जाता है

vāyudeva uvāca | adhibhūtaṃ rasaś cātra somas tatrādhidaivatam | jalakaś caturthaṃ bhūtaṃ samajñeyaḥ | rasanā tasya adhyātmaṃ, rasaḥ adhibhūtaḥ, candramāḥ tasya adhidaivataṃ ucyate |

风神说道:“在此,味(rasa)当知为‘依物’(adhibhūta,客观之境),而苏摩(Soma,即月)为其‘依天’(adhidaivata,主宰之神)。在此论中,水大当作第四粗大元素。舌为其‘依我’(adhyātma,内在所依);味为其‘依物’;月则被宣说为其‘依天’。”
