दानधर्मरता: शान्ता: सततं प्रियवादिन: । तेषां ज्येष्ठ: खनीनेत्र: स तान् सर्वानपीडयत्
dānadharmaratāḥ śāntāḥ satataṃ priyavādinaḥ | teṣāṃ jyeṣṭhaḥ khanīnetraḥ sa tān sarvān apīḍayat, rājan |
毗耶娑说道:“他们乐于布施与正法,性情安和,常说悦耳之言。然而其中长子名为迦尼涅特罗(Khanīnetra),却不断压迫其余诸弟,大王啊。”
व्यास उवाच
Outer virtues—charity, calmness, and pleasant speech—do not guarantee inner righteousness; true dharma is tested by how one treats the vulnerable, especially within one’s own family.
Vyāsa describes a group characterized by virtuous qualities, but notes a moral rupture: their eldest, Khanīnetra, repeatedly torments the others, creating suffering despite the group’s otherwise exemplary conduct.
