Genealogy to Marutta and the Logistics of Royal Sacrifice

The verse models a dharmic approach to learning: a righteous king seeks ethical clarity and inspiration by listening to the praised deeds of a rājarṣi, showing that moral understanding is strengthened through attentive hearing (śravaṇa) of exemplary lives.
Yudhiṣṭhira addresses Vyāsa respectfully and requests a full narration of Marutta’s story and virtues, setting up Vyāsa’s forthcoming account of Marutta’s lineage, qualities, and renowned sacrificial context.
