Kuntī–Vyāsa Dialogue on Durvāsā’s Boon and Karṇa’s Birth
युधिष्ठिरस्तु नृपतिर्नातिप्रीतमनास्तदा । धारयामास तदू राज्यं निहतज्ञातिबान्धव:,जिनके बन्धु-बान्धव नष्ट हो गये थे, वे राजा युधिष्ठिर मनमें अधिक प्रसन्न न रहते हुए किसी प्रकार राज्यका भार सँभालने लगे
yudhiṣṭhiras tu nṛpatir nātiprītamanās tadā | dhārayāmāsa tadū rājyaṃ nihatajñātibāndhavaḥ ||
毗湿摩波耶那说道:“当时,尤提士提罗王心中并无多少欢悦;亲族与挚友尽皆战死,他也只能勉力承担那王国的重担。”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Rulership (rājadharma) can become a heavy duty rather than a source of pleasure when won at the cost of loved ones; ethical governance requires enduring responsibility even amid personal sorrow.
After the great destruction of his relatives and allies, Yudhiṣṭhira remains inwardly unjoyful, yet he continues to sustain the kingdom—carrying on rule despite grief.
