धृतराष्ट्र-सत्कारः तथा श्राद्ध-दाने नियमनम् | Honoring Dhṛtarāṣṭra and Regulating Śrāddha-Gifts
तेन तस्याभवत् प्रीतो वृत्तेन स नराधिप:
tena tasyābhavat prīto vṛttena sa narādhipaḥ | viparītaś ca me śatrur niyamyaś ca bhaven naraḥ ||
因这般行止,那位老王心生欢喜。友提湿提罗性情温和,常怀欣然,对诸弟与群臣说道:“持国王于我与汝等皆为可敬之长者。凡依其命而居者,是我的善友;凡行事相违者,是我的仇敌,必受我的惩罚。”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A ruler should uphold dharma through respectful governance: honoring elders and legitimate authority, rewarding loyal obedience, and restraining those who act in defiance of rightful command.
Vaiśampāyana describes how Yudhiṣṭhira’s steady, respectful conduct pleased the king, and how Yudhiṣṭhira instructed his brothers and ministers to treat Dhṛtarāṣṭra as venerable—counting obedience to him as friendship and opposition as enmity deserving discipline.
