Even those of high status may embrace humble service when dharma calls for honoring elders, sharing grief, and sustaining social harmony after catastrophe; dignity is shown through restraint and compassionate attendance.
In the early Ashramavāsika setting, leading women of the Pāṇḍava–Kuru world—Kuntī, Draupadī, Subhadrā, Ulūpī, and Citrāṅgadā—are described as standing by and serving Gāndhārī, emphasizing her central, revered position amid collective mourning.
