The verse links cosmic and social order to tapas and śānti: the progenitor Dakṣa arises from Brahmā characterized by great austerity and a tranquil self, implying that disciplined restraint and inner calm are foundational virtues for creation, leadership, and dharmic order.
Vaiśampāyana continues a genealogical/cosmogonic account, telling the king that the sage Dakṣa—renowned as a progenitor—was born from Brahmā’s right thumb, described as serene-minded and intensely ascetic.
