Even overwhelming danger is not absolute when restrained by dharma and divine ordinance: a destructive ritual driven by vengeance is ultimately checked by a foretold intervention, reminding that cosmic order limits human wrath.
Takṣaka reassures the serpents that they will be saved from King Janamejaya’s serpent-sacrifice, citing an earlier pronouncement by Brahmā made in the presence of the gods that a powerful figure (the sage-youth who will intervene) will bring their deliverance.
