Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical danger of uncontrolled anger: when a person becomes 'poison-like' in wrath, even a single provocative statement—especially concerning one’s elders—can trigger harmful actions with far-reaching consequences.

Śaunaka describes the temperament of the sage’s son: he is extremely irascible, and upon hearing a remark aimed at his father, he immediately becomes enraged—setting the stage for the ensuing conflict and its consequences.
