Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the idea that excellence and authority (indratva) can be granted by destiny or blessing, and that true eminence is marked not only by power (sovereignty among birds) but also by public esteem (lokasambhāvitau) and disciplined capability (kāmarūpa—mastery over form).

Śaunaka foretells (or affirms) that two sons will attain preeminence among all birds, becoming world-renowned heroes with the supernatural ability to change form at will, despite being birds by nature.
