Seeking refuge (śaraṇāgati) is presented as a legitimate ethical response to distress: the afflicted openly acknowledge vulnerability and appeal to a higher, purifying power for protection. Agni is invoked not only as fire but as an auspicious guardian whose divine energies safeguard those who surrender.
A speaker addresses Agni with a formal invocation, praising his auspicious manifestation and his sevenfold fiery powers, and asks for comprehensive protection for those who are suffering and seeking shelter.
