आकाशमेघवर्णनम् / Description of the Sky Filled with Rain-Clouds
इत्येवं तरलतरोरमिंसंकुलं त॑ गम्भीरं विकसितमम्बरप्रकाशम् | पातालज्वलनशिखाविदीपिताडूं गर्जन्तं द्रतमभिजग्मतुस्ततस्ते,इस प्रकार अत्यन्त तरल तरंगोंसे व्याप्त, आकाशके समान स्वच्छ, बड़वानलकी शिखाओंसे उद्धासित, गम्भीर, विकसित और निरन्तर गर्जन करनेवाले महासागरको देखती हुई वे दोनों बहनें तुरंत आगे बढ़ गयीं
śaunaka uvāca | ityevaṁ taralatarormi-saṅkulaṁ tad gambhīraṁ vikasitam ambaraprakāśam | pātāla-jvalana-śikhā-vidīpitāḍhyaṁ garjantaṁ drutam abhijagmatus tatas te ||
绍那迦说道:“于是,她们望见那大海——极其躁动的波涛密布其间,澄澈如天、明亮如穹,深邃而广袤;又被海底之火(婆陀瓦那罗)的火舌照耀,轰鸣不绝——那两位姊妹便立刻疾步向前,奔向大海。”
शौनक उवाच
The verse primarily serves narrative and cosmological description rather than direct moral instruction: it evokes awe at the vast, powerful ocean—restless yet luminous and deep—suggesting that the world contains forces beyond ordinary human control, before which characters must proceed with resolve.
Śaunaka describes two sisters arriving at the great ocean; seeing its roaring waves and the glow associated with the submarine fire, they immediately move forward toward it, indicating a decisive continuation of their journey.
