Chapter 213

दत्त्वा वरमजेयत्वं जले सर्वत्र भारत | साध्या जलचरा: सर्वे भविष्यन्ति न संशय:,(पुत्रमुत्पादयामास स तस्यां सुमनोहरम्‌ । इरावन्तं महाभागं महाबलपराक्रमम्‌ ।।) भारत! जाते समय उसने अर्जुनको यह वर दिया “कि आप जलमें सर्वत्र अजेय होंगे और सभी जलचर आपके वशमें रहेंगे, इसमें संशय नहीं है।” इस प्रकार अर्जुनने उलूपीके गर्भसे अत्यन्त मनोहर तथा महान्‌ बल-पराक्रमसे सम्पन्न इरावान्‌ नामक महा उत्पन्न किया

dattvā varam ajeyatvaṃ jale sarvatra bhārata | sādhā jalacarāḥ sarve bhaviṣyanti na saṃśayaḥ || (putram utpādayāmāsa sa tasyāṃ sumanoharam | irāvantaṃ mahābhāgaṃ mahābalaparākramam ||)

毗舍ṃ波耶那说:“噢,婆罗多!她赐予他在水中处处无敌之福,并宣言:‘一切水族生灵皆将受你统御——毫无疑问。’其后,阿周那由她的胎中得一子,容貌绝丽,名曰伊罗梵(Irāvān),乃福德之子,具大力与英雄之勇。”
