Arjuna Restores a Brāhmaṇa’s Cattle and Accepts Forest Exile
Satya-vrata at Khaṇḍavaprastha
यथैव मम पुत्राणामिदं राज्यं विधीयते । तथैव पाण्डुपुत्राणामिदं राज्यं न संशय:,जैसे मेरे पुत्रोंका यह राज्य कहा जाता है, उसी प्रकार पाण्डुपुत्रोंका भी यह राज्य है-- इसमें भी संशय नहीं है
yathaiva mama putrāṇām idaṁ rājyaṁ vidhīyate | tathaiva pāṇḍuputrāṇām idaṁ rājyaṁ na saṁśayaḥ ||
毗度罗宣言:“正如这国土被称作并分配给‘我的儿子们’,同样,这国土也属于般度之子——毫无疑虑。”
विदुर उवाच
That rightful sovereignty must be recognized impartially: if the kingdom is acknowledged as belonging to one set of heirs, it must equally be acknowledged as belonging to the Pāṇḍavas; denying them would violate dharma and fairness.
Vidura, acting as a moral counselor in the Kuru political dispute, asserts that the Pāṇḍavas have an unquestionable claim to the kingdom, countering any attempt to treat them as outsiders or to reserve the realm only for the other heirs.
