समन्तपञ्चक-आख्यानम् तथा अक्षौहिणी-प्रमाणनिर्णयः

ज्ञेयं विवादपर्वात्र कर्णस्यापि महात्मन: । निर्याणं च तत: पर्व कुरुपाण्डवसेनयो:,इसी प्रसंगमें महात्मा कर्णका विवादपर्व है। तदनन्तर कौरव एवं पाण्डव-सेनाका निर्याणपर्व है
jñeyaṃ vivādaparvātra karṇasyāpi mahātmanaḥ | niryāṇaṃ ca tataḥ parva kurupāṇḍavasenayoḥ ||
此处当知有一章名为“争论品”（Dispute Parvan），所述关乎大心的迦尔纳（Karṇa）。其后便是叙述俱卢与般度两军出发、整队行军之品。叙事由争执与对立转入有序的战争动员，昭示未解的纷争如何凝结为群体性的冲突。
