Samantapañcaka Narrative and the Measure of an Akṣauhiṇī
पर्व दिग्विजयादूर्ध्व राजसूयिकमुच्यते । ततश्चार्धाभिहरणं शिशुपालवधस्तत:,तदनन्तर राजसूय, अर्घाभिहरण और शिशुपाल-वधपर्व कहे गये हैं
parva digvijayād ūrdhvaṁ rājasūyikam ucyate | tataś cārdhābhiharaṇaṁ śiśupālavadhas tataḥ |
在叙述征服四方(digvijaya)之后,故事转入所谓“罗阇苏耶祭”(Rājasūya)之篇。其后是奉献阿尔伽(arghya,敬献之供)的段落,继而便是诛灭尸输波罗(Śiśupāla)之篇。此一顺序昭示:王者雄心如何被仪式所规束,正当的尊荣如何在众目睽睽下得以辨明,而傲慢与敌视达摩者终将招致果决的报应。
