Ādi Parva, Adhyāya 186 — Drupada’s Summons and the Pāñcāla Reception

परस्परं स्पर्धया प्रेक्षमाणा: संकल्पजेनाभिपरिप्लुताज्ा: | कृष्णा ममैवेत्यभिभाषमाणा नृपासनेभ्य: सहसोदतिष्ठन्‌,वे एक-दूसरेको बड़ी स्पर्धासे देख रहे थे। उनके सभी अंगोंमें कामोन्माद व्याप्त हो रहा था। 'कृष्णा तो मेरी ही होनेवाली है" यह कहते हुए वे अपने राजोचित आसनोंसे सहसा उठकर खड़े हो गये

parasparaṁ spardhayā prekṣamāṇāḥ saṅkalpajenābhipariplutāṅgāḥ | kṛṣṇā mamaivety abhibhāṣamāṇā nṛpāsanebhyaḥ sahasodatiṣṭhan ||

他们以激烈的争胜之心彼此相视,周身为自我意念所生的欲望所淹没。口中喊着“黑公主(Kṛṣṇā)必归我一人!”便从王者之座上骤然起立——占有与竞逐的外显冲动,预示着自制与鲁莽索取之间的伦理张力。
