Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how major life decisions in epic society are framed within public, ritual order: purification (bathing), propriety (fine dress), and symbolic action (the victory-garland) situate personal choice within communal norms and royal dharma.

During a grand and pleasing public gathering, on the sixteenth day, a princess enters the arena after bathing and adorning herself, carrying a golden victory-garland—signaling a formal, ceremonial moment of selection or honor before the assembled audience.
