ते श्रमेण च कौरव्यास्तृष्णया च प्रपीडिता: । नाशवनुवंस्तदा गन्तुं निद्रया च प्रवृद्धया,वे कुरुकुलरत्न पाण्डव उस समय अधिक परिश्रम और प्यासके कारण बहुत कष्ट पा रहे थे। थकावटसे उनकी नींद भी बहुत बढ़ गयी थी, जिससे पीड़ित होकर वे आगे जानेमें असमर्थ हो गये
te śrameṇa ca kauravyās tṛṣṇayā ca prapīḍitāḥ | nāśaknuvan tadā gantuṃ nidrayā ca pravṛddhayā ||
毗舍波耶那说道:“库鲁的子孙——般度五子——为劳顿与干渴所压迫,当时已无法再前行;疲惫引来的沉重睡意涌上,他们力竭而止步。”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even the righteous and heroic are subject to bodily limits; dharma in practice includes recognizing fatigue and sustaining oneself, not merely pressing forward. The verse underscores the ethical realism of the epic: perseverance must be balanced with care for life and strength.
The Pāṇḍavas, described as Kurus, are worn down by hard travel—exertion and thirst overwhelm them, and heavy sleep from exhaustion prevents them from continuing. The narration marks a pause in their movement due to physical necessity.
