Hiḍimba’s Approach and Hiḍimbā’s Warning to Bhīmasena

anāgataṃ hi budhyeta yac ca kāryaṃ puraḥ sthitam | na tu buddhikṣayāt kiñcid atikrāmet prayojanam ||

Educational Q&A

Use buddhi (discernment) to anticipate future needs and to evaluate present duties; do not, through impaired judgment, neglect a necessary purpose or objective.

Kaṇika is delivering counsel in a didactic, policy-oriented tone, emphasizing careful deliberation and foresight in undertaking actions—guidance typical of advisory discourse in the Adi Parva.
