The verse highlights śauca (cleanliness/purity) and decorum after recreation: even in leisure, the Kuru youths return to cleanliness and orderly conduct. It also notes how strength does not remove human limits—greater effort brings greater fatigue, as seen with Bhīma.
After finishing their water-play and amusements, the Kuru princes/warriors change into clean clothes, adorn themselves, and consider staying the night in the pleasure-houses. Bhīma, having exerted himself more than others, is particularly tired—setting the scene for what follows in the episode.
