Materials, Classes, and Fruits of Linga-Worship
bhūrbhūvaḥsvarmaharlokān kramād vai janataḥ param tapaḥ satyaṃ parākramya bhāsayan svena tejasā
Suta Goswami (narrating the transcendent glory of Shiva as Pati)
It frames Shiva as the limitless, self-luminous Reality beyond all lokas; Linga worship thus becomes contemplation of the Supreme Pati whose jyoti pervades and surpasses the cosmos.
Shiva is presented as svatejas—self-established light—transcending even the highest cosmic realms, indicating His status as Pati beyond conditioned existence and all gradations of manifested worlds.
A meditative Pashupata-oriented contemplation is implied: withdrawing awareness from lower to higher planes and finally resting in Shiva’s self-effulgent tejas beyond loka-identities.
