Materials, Classes, and Fruits of Linga-Worship
वेदाः सर्वे दधिमयं पिशाचाः सीसनिर्मितम् लेभिरे च यथायोग्यं प्रसादाद्ब्रह्मणः पदम्
vedāḥ sarve dadhimayaṃ piśācāḥ sīsanirmitam lebhire ca yathāyogyaṃ prasādādbrahmaṇaḥ padam
一切吠陀得获由凝乳所成之境位;诸毗舍遮得获由铅所铸之境位。并且各各随其相应之资质,凭梵天之恩,得至所定之位。如是,众生依主宰之安排,在各自界限中运行不越。
Suta Goswami (narrating the Purana to the sages of Naimisharanya; internal narrative refers to Brahma as the granter of stations)
It frames the universe as an ordered hierarchy of “stations” allotted by divine grace; Linga worship aligns the Pashu (soul) with that cosmic order and directs it toward Shiva (Pati) beyond mere worldly placements.
By showing that statuses and realms are distributed “according to fitness,” it implies a governed cosmos where higher liberation is not random; in Shaiva Siddhanta, Shiva as Pati is the ultimate regulator and liberator beyond Brahma’s administrative bestowals.
No specific rite is named, but the principle of yathā-yogya (fitness/qualification) supports Pashupata discipline: purification and right conduct make the soul fit to receive higher grace culminating in Shiva-realization.
