Suta Goswami
It frames Linga worship as dharmic kriyā (right practice) governed by discipline (daṇḍa/samaya) and inner alertness (apramāda) with clear understanding (bodha), ensuring the sādhaka’s puja becomes a purifying path for the pashu (soul).
By emphasizing bodha (true awakening) and apramāda (unbroken awareness), it points toward the Shaiva aim where the pashu moves from pasha (bondage of error and negligence) toward the light of Pati—Shiva—through disciplined conduct and insight.
A core Pashupata discipline is implied: regulated observance (samaya) with strict self-restraint (daṇḍa as inner and outer discipline), sustained non-negligence (apramāda), and contemplative discernment (bodha) during puja and daily conduct.
