catvāriṃśatsahasrāṇi tathānyāni kṛtaṃ yugam tathā daśasahasrāṇāṃ varṣāṇāṃ śatasaṃkhyayā

By defining yuga-measures, the text frames worship within Shiva’s cosmic order (kāla-vidhāna), reminding devotees that Linga-pūjā aligns the pashu (soul) with the Pati (Shiva) who governs time and cycles.
Though Shiva is not named directly, the doctrine implied is that kāla (time) and niyati (cosmic law) function under the Lord’s sovereignty—Shiva as Pati ordains the rhythm of yugas while remaining transcendent to them.
No specific pūjā-vidhi is stated; the takeaway is contemplative discipline (kāla-anusandhāna): reflecting on yuga-cycles to cultivate vairāgya and steadiness in Pāśupata-oriented sādhanā.
