tribhānus tat-suto ’syāpi karandhama udāra-dhīḥ marutas tat-suto ’putraḥ putraṁ pauravam anvabhūt
婆努曼之子为特里婆努;其子为胸怀宽广的迦兰达摩。迦兰达摩之子为摩鲁塔;因无子嗣,他收养了普鲁王族的一位儿子(杜什曼塔)为己子。
It states the succession Tribhānu → Karandhama → Maruta, and notes that although Maruta was without a son, he nevertheless obtained a son within the Paurava (Puru-descended) line.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī narrates these dynastic details to Mahārāja Parīkṣit as part of the history of Yayāti’s descendants and the Paurava line.
It highlights continuity of dharmic responsibility across generations—legacy is not only biological but also tied to duty, character, and the preservation of righteous culture.
