tava tātaḥ subhadrāyām abhimanyur ajāyata sarvātirathajid vīra uttarāyāṁ tato bhavān
大王啊,你的父亲阿毗曼纽由苏跋陀罗所生,是阿周那之子;他是征服一切“阿提罗陀”(千乘战车之勇士)的英雄。由他与毗罗吒王之女乌塔罗,你便诞生于世。
This verse states that Parīkṣit was born from Uttarā, and his father was the heroic Abhimanyu, who was born from Subhadrā.
Śukadeva highlights Abhimanyu’s extraordinary valor—his ability to defeat even the greatest chariot-warriors—while narrating the noble lineage of King Parīkṣit.
The Bhagavatam uses genealogy to teach dharma and responsibility—one should honor noble qualities like courage and righteousness and live in a way that uplifts the family and society.
